This course offers a broad view of the literary writings in South Asian nations which have been under colonial rule until about the late 1940s. It also provides a critical introduction to South Asian literature in English, examining key theoretical concepts and diverse literary works from countries like India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. The course would explore how literature voices diverse experiences and perspectives within the South Asian diaspora.
